26 states have AV deployment laws—but national rules on AVs are needed.
The vast majority of crashes in the U.S. are caused by human error - like distraction and impairment. AVs offer a safer alternative and federal rules supporting the technology will help save lives.
Countries like China are investing heavily in AVs and putting in place national regulations. America must act now to lead.
Research has found that AVs will create new jobs spanning many skill levels and areas of expertise, many not requiring higher education. AVs will augment a workforce already stretched thin.
